Which phones are compatible with NFC Portals?

Most phones made within the last three years are able to read NFC Portals. To check if your phone is compatible you can look through this NFC compatible phone list or use your search engine to look up "[Device Model] NFC Compatible" and it will tell you.

Note for iPhone 7, 8, and X

For iPhone 7,8, and X, NFC reading isn't performed automatically. In order to read your Portal with these phones you will need to trigger the NFC reader using a button in your control center. To add this button to your control center follow the instructions below.

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap "Control Center"
3. Scroll down and add the “NFC Tag Reader” feature
